Clean Drinking Water Helps Protect Gorillas

Our focus is to bring Ceramic Water Filters to the Senkwekwe Center in Rumangabo, Democratic Republic of Congo.  This will provide clean drinking water for the orphaned gorillas; Maisha, Kaboko, Ndeze & Ndakasi, their caregivers, Veterinarians, Staff and visitors.

We are also focusing our efforts on providing these water filters to the people in the communities that surround the gorilla sector.  We hope to reduce the amount of people that enter the forest illegally to collect water.

On July 28′ 2010, we began the process of having the filters available in three areas;
1) The Senkwekwe Centre in Rumangabo for the orphaned mountain gorillas, caregivers, Veterinarians and staff.
2) Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Lwiro for the orphaned chimpanzees, baboons and all primates and animals at the sanctuary, caregivers, Veterinarians and staff.
3) G.R.A.C.E. ( Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Centre ) in Tayna for orphaned Eastern Lowland Gorillas, caregivers, Veterinarians and staff.
